SOFTWARE DOWNLOADS FOR SETTING UP YOUR RACECAR

Here's something for all you technofreaks out there.

Here are four programs that all run in MS-DOS and have been tested in Windows 95, 98 & 2000 system environments. They have been supplied for our use by Nik at Omni Autos, and any queries or suggestions should be addressed to him. The fifth item is a spreadsheet from an ex-racer.

Classic Clubmans can accept no responsibility for how you use the results of these programs. However, if you fall off at the first corner following a full setup, then it's almost certainly going to be the drivers fault. But at least these programs will provide you with a good excuse.

Have Fun!

Corner Weights Enter the corner weights at each wheel, and this program will then display the front, rear and total weights plus %ages. Then you can enter the vehicle dimensions to calculate the C of G and the ideal corner weights.
Ballast & Corner Weights Similar to the corner weight program above, but it also allows you to add ballast anywhere in the vehicle and see the effect that it has on the corner weights and C of G.
Speed Calculator A pretty comprehensive program that allows you to input all the wheel and difff values to calculate the car's speed. So when that spotty little herbert asks you "'ere mate, 'ow fast does it go?", you can tell him EXACTLY (how fast it goes!).
Spring Inclination You provide the information on the springs and the pickup points, and it will tell you the spring rates at fully extended and fully closed.
Brake Balance Here's something provided by a friend of mine that's reputed to be able to calculate your brake balance ratio. You'll need WinZip to unpack the two files - the Word document explains(!) the mathematics and the Excel spreadsheet does the calculations for you. You might need to right-click on the link and then 'Save Link/Target As . .' to download.
